Registration opened at noon today and the peeps have started filing in. Remember; PREREGISTRATION ONLY! We are once again capping at 300. If you have a valid PRO license, you can walk up on race day.

This cycle we have added a, OPEN FAT BIKE MALE and FEMALE category for your deviant pleasure, if that's your thing.

The PRO class prize money has risen significantly:

• 1st = $750
• 2nd = $500
• 3rd = $250

The payouts are equal for men and women (as they have always been with us)

We have also changed policy and will be allowing transfers (for a small fee) up until October 8th.

We will check in with from time to time as the year rolls on.

2012 Refunds Processed

We hope by now that you have received your refund from Bikereg! If not, please let us know by email at: torture@somethingwickedevents.com.

As per BikeReg:

"All refunds were processed on Friday (02.01.13). For those that registered using PayPal Express they should see a credit to their account that day. For those using credit card, the credit would have gone through right away but may take a couple of days to show on their statement. They should perhaps contact their credit card companies to check. From what I can see on our end, all were completed."

We tried valiantly to secure a full refund for you all but there were some items that we could not be reimbursed for. We realize the amount not refunded is minimal, but we vow to make it up to you this year in 2013.

Thank you all for your understanding! Registration for 2013 will open on May 1st at high noon.

Greetings racelings!

We would like to start by saying how appreciative we are of your patience with us. After we learned the race would not be possible there was quite a bit of work in store for us. Luckily, we were able to get refunded for most of what was paid for. We received our last refund this week and will be sending funds back to Bikereg. They will be handling the refund to you all. I am sure they will send you an email along with the reimbursement. I will post again when I know the refunds have begun. Thank you again for your support and don't forget that the countdown is on for 2013. We will then have 2 years of pent up hell to unload on you.

2012 Refund Update

Just an update on the impending refunds, we are still waiting on rebates from vendors.  As soon as it's all been finalized we will be processing refunds through BikeReg.

SIX HOURS OF CATHEDRAL PINES 2012 RACE CANCELED

Dear racers,

It is with great sadness that we bring this news. The County Parks Deptartment has informed us that the parks will remain closed indefinitely. There is no electrical power on the Cathedral Pines property at this time and it is not an immediate priority to correct that. We are left with no choice but to cancel the race for 2012.

Please understand that we tried to secure a postponement date to no avail. We are as disappointed as you all are. This is our chance, as racers, to be on the other side and spectate. We are working on reimbursements from our vendors as this is written. We appreciate your patience with us these past couple weeks. We are working on refunds. Stay tuned!

Do not despair! The park WILL reopen at some point.

There WILL be a SOMETHING WICKED 6 Hour Race in 2013.

IMPORTANT RACE UPDATE

Dearest race family,

We are sure everyone is aware of what happened here on Long Island. Hurricane Sandy ravaged the island and we are still suffering from repercussions as we write this. The county government has closed all county parks, including Cathedral Pines. All county parks department personnel have been absorbed by other government agencies to work at correcting Hurricane Sandy's aftermath.

There is no other venue to accommodate our event and all of you. We have assessed the damage to the trail and are confident that we can quickly get the park race ready. Unfortunately, if we can't enter the property, we cannot fix it.

We realize how many of you were looking forward to racing on 11/17, but it simply will not be possible. We are making the call now as we are out of time to prepare for you all next week. We also want to give you all ample time to deal with your travel situations. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this causes you. We are just as upset at this news as you are.

That being said, we are working diligently at a postponement date. This date will fall in 2012. You will all be given a hefty heads up before the new date. Please join our email list if you are not on it by CLICKING HERE.

We are not letting you out of this that easily.
